Feeling crafty...

I have been pretty quiet on my blog lately as I have been getting crafty!

My wedding seems to have bought out my creative side and I find myself thinking 'can I do it/make it myself?' With every nice idea I find.

As soon as I started planning my wedding (and possibly before!!) I knew I wanted to make my own brooch bouquet. I have an old brooch that was my Grandma's which I wanted to incorporate, and I love the idea of being able to keep my bouquet after the wedding.
I found a lot of tutorials online and bought most of my supplies on Ebay. I have had great fun sourcing brooches and even my family have got involved, buying them for me when they find them. I have gone for diamantès and pearls so it does not clash with the wedding colours.
I'm really proud of my progress so far and can't wait to see the finished product!

For ages I have been wanting to bling up my Converse and I finally got round to it! Again I followed tutorials online and bought most of the supplies from Ebay. It was surprisingly easy and I think the colour of the diamantès works really well with the pink of the shoes.
I am now hunting for other things I can add some sparkle to ;)

Whats your favourite way to bring out your creative side?xo

Payday haul!

I guess it will come as no surprise to anyone that I love payday! It’s the one time of the month I get to be a little frivolous and purchase the things I was dreaming about the previous month. As I have a busy few months ahead I had to be a little more careful with this month’s payday spending…but I still managed to get a few gems.

Firstly, I had to pop to ASDA and I’m so glad I did as they had a sneaky sale on and I managed to grab this sweater which was reduced from £12 to £3!!!!! I love the luminous coral colour and think it will be perfect for when the nights start to get cooler. Plus it’s an absolute bargain and those are my favourite kind of purchases!
Most of my payday shops consist of a trip to Primark, although this time I was a lot more reserved. I love anything that reminds me of my childhood so I couldn't resist these Care Bear joggers. They were £3, reduced from £7 and are so comfortable. Perfect for lazy days around the house.

After a very long aversion I now love using gold coloured jewellery to accessorise and thought these initial earrings would really add some fun to any outfit.

I picked up this blouse in black on my last trip to Primark and at £4 each I wished I had bought more colours. Luckily my local store had a small selection so I snapped this one up.

Bit of a boring one but I recommend these gym socks to anyone who goes running or to the gym, an absolute bargain at £2 for 3 pairs. They cushion my feet really well and have cute slogans on them.

No payday shop would be complete without a little splurge so I took a long overdue trip to MAC. I have been after a new foundation for a while and as really tempted by the mineralize fluid foundation. It is £27 and I bought shade NW25. I love the dewy finish it gives and have found a little goes a long way! I also bought the studio finish concealer. I already have the light shade which I love but wanted a darker one for contouring. Unfortunately I was given the same shade as the foundation so need to return it.

What are your favourite payday splurges?! xo

Benefit Benefayre

Hi lovelies,

Two weeks ago I went to see The Rolling Stones in Hyde Park, and while I was there I came across a Benefit Benefayre. It was an adorable set up that looked like an English Village fete. You were given a token at the entrance and you could use it on the different games they had set up. All games were based around Benefit products...hoopla round They're Real mascara wands, knock 'em down with Oxygen Wow foundation bottles and a Porefessional spray gun game. They also had a 'hook a duck', photobooth, facepainting and makeuppers. My game of choice was 'hook a duck' and I won a minature Sun Beam highlighter! I also made the most of their make up being 10% off and treated myself to Fake Up (review to come soon)...all in all a fun addition to the festival set up.

This weekend I got to experience the Benefayre again when it came to Birmingham. They were raising money for Womens Refuge and it was £1 per token which I felt was more than fair as it was for such a good cause. My fiance was with me this timeso I used my token on the 'knock 'em down' game and let him have the pleasure of taking part (a girls gott do what a girls gotta do)...and he won me a limited edition mirror! Its a handy size and folds out onto its own stand...perfect for taking on holidays and trips. The lady told me they aren't available to buy so feel its a nice touch as you are getting something a bit special.

We also won a sample size They're Real mascara, this is my favourite mascara and the sample is perfect handbag size so I was very happy.

I hope everyone gets chance to visit a Benefayre as they are great fun and really showcase the brand well. The makeuppers are a great introduction to anyone new to the brand and the fact they they are raising money at the same time is a wonderful touch.

Have you visited a Benefayre yet?

Lorèal Matte and Messy salt spray

I am loving this weather, although it does mean I can't bear to use my hairdryer or straightners.
Time to embrace the natural look...

I bought the Lorèal Studio Matte and Messy salt spray a few months ago but it has really proven itself in this weather. As I have been letting my hair dry naturally this spray still gives it some shape and volume and gorgeous beach waves.

I towel dry my hair and comb it through as it is notoriously knotty, apply the spray on the bottom half of my hair then either plait or pop in a topknot. Usually i do this just before bed so when i get up its a case of undoing my hair, running my fingers through it and voila! (Anything that saves me time in the morning is always a bonus...I love my sleep!)
It has a slight chemical smell but this didn't really bother me and you dont tend to notice this once the hair is dry.

The results in the pic below are from when i put my hair in pigtails to dry before bed.

What have been your hair saviours in this weather?? xo

Summer...summer...summertime

I have definately neglected my blog of late...my summers resolution...blog more!!
Im currently on a train to London and could not believe my luck when I saw there was free wifi and a charge point. Safe to say I appreciate the little things in life :)
This month marks 10 months until my wedding next year, and I feel so disorganised...although others think my planning is at military operation level! I also have my best friends hen do to plan as per my Maid of Honour duties... its a good job I like organising!
All in all a busy....and hot (loving this heatwave) time.
In order to not look like a frazzled bride im paying a lot of attention to my morning and night beauty routine and will pop a blog up soon detailing what I do and the products I use before and after bedtime.
As for now...its back to my vanilla coke (retro) and light train reading :) xo

Dip dye....

So today I bought the Loréal Préférence wild ombre dye!!
Iv loved the dip dye effect for a while and previously had it unintentionally when letting my roots grow out. Being the poor person that I am I cannot afford to get it done professionally in a salon so after hearing good reviews I thought I would give this a go.
I'll let you know how I get on....xo
